This system works well with Plasma and LCDs as well as most other models. All you need are two "audio out" analog jacks in the back of the TV -- "Audio Out Left" and "Audio Out Right." (Note: It will not work with optical/digital "audio outs.")

How does it work? Simply use the audio cable to connect the transmitter to the "audio out" jacks in the back of the TV. The transmitter then converts the sounds from the TV into infrared light, and transmits it throughout the room where it is picked up by the wireless headset and converted back into crisp, clean sound. Not sure which TV Ears system to get -- 3.0 or Digital?

1. Do you have a TV with only Digital/Optical output?
The TV Ears 3.0 will not work with this system. The TV Ears Digital will work because it has a digital-to-audio converter (DAC) built into the transmitter that converts the digital signal to an analog signal that can then be transmitted throughout the room.

2. Is your hearing much better in one ear than the other?
If so, you should probably go with the TV Ears Digital because it has balance control, permitting you to hear equally through both ears.

3. Will you be using your TV Ears system in a very large, open area?
The transmitter in the TV Ears Digital is much more powerful than that in the 3.0 system. It covers more than 3 times the area (2000 sq. ft. vs. 600 sq. ft.). So you stand a much better chance of getting a strong signal. Also, if you have a very high ceiling this will work better.

4. Does it matter to you where it is made?
The TV Ears Digital system is manufactured and assembled in the U.S.A.
