How
does it work? A
small transmitter converts the TV's sound into invisible infrared
light (like your TV's remote) and fills the room with it. The wireless
headset turns the light back into clear sound and feeds it directly
into your ears. (The transmitter itself is powered by an A/C adapter
which plugs into the wall outlet.)
How does the
transmitter gather the TV's sound? Simply plug the audio cable into
the “audio out” sockets in the back of the TV or attach
the pick-up microphone over one of the TV's speakers, using our
velcro strip (The microphone comes with all systems except
the Basic 2.3 MHz System.)
The ultra-light
headset (1.6 oz.) has a built-in rechargeable battery and is wireless
so there are no cords connecting you to the TV. You are free to
roam around the room while receiving crisp, clear sound. Each
headset has its own volume control
which
can be set differently from the volume on the TV. This means that
the headset can be turned up loudly while the TV's volume is set
at a comfortable level or turned all the way down. No more loud
TV!

you can understand most of the words by turning up the volume, this

(but please note that this model does not work in theaters

TV Ears Original ($149) is
our most popular system and is designed for persons with moderate
to severe hearing loss.
(Please Note: this model is not recommended
for use with plasma, LCD, or HD TV's.These types of televisions
cause interference with the TV Ears transmitter and as a result
produce static in the headset.But the TV Ears Professional
overcomes these problems.)
Many people
with hearing loss complain, “It's the clarity, not the
volume. I can hear the words. I just can't understand
them.” But
with this system people find they can now hear and understand every
word on their television. Several additional features make
this possible:
TV
Ears Voice-Enhancement Technology (VET)
clarifies television dialog by actually raising hard-to-hear words
above the program's background sounds and music, so the words stand
out. How does it do this? A special microchip dampens the lower
frequency sounds while sending more
power to the higher frequency speech sounds. Those sounds that are
spoken at the highest frequencies (such as f, s, and sh)
are the hardest to catch and thus receive the most power. Nothing
works better at making all the dialog understandable.
Balance
Control sends more amplification into one ear or the other
so you hear the same volume through each ear.
Automatic Commercial Control (ACC) caps loud commercials
so you don't get blasted with volume and feel the need to lower
it.

TV Ears Professional ($249) is
a more powerful version of the TV Ears Original. It has the same
quality of sound and features of the original --Voice-Enhancement
Technology, balance control, etc. -- but has two important "extras."
First,it
comes with a Power Stacker amplifier which allows it to
overcome the interference of LCD's, plasmas, and HD TV's which impact
the TV Ears Original. The amplifier also more than doubles the
coverage area from 900 square feet for the Original, to 2000 square
feet. It also is good for rooms with very high ceilings which tend
to degrade the signal of less powerful systems. 
Second,
it comes with a Professional Headset which allows it to connect
to TV Ears accessories such as a neckloop (for hearing aids with
T-coils), audio cord (included) for iPods and CD Players, and telephone
cord.

TV Ears Home Theater ($399) is
designed for persons or institutions with large theater/activity
rooms or with built-in TV's. It has all the features of the TV Ears
Professional but comes with a second headset and an additional
Power Stacker amplifier, which enables it to cover up to 2500
square feet.
 The
system is configured so the transmitter and headset charger are
separted. The thin design of the Power Stacker transmitter can be
discreetly attached to a wall mounted flat screen or built-in TV
while the headset charging cradle can be placed near the seating
area.
